Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy explains how Property for Profits ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you use this website, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently.

Who we are

Property for Profits operates the website at pforprofits.com. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the "data controller" of the personal data you provide through this site.

Controller: [Insert your registered business / trading name], [insert registered address], company number [insert if registered]. You can reach us about any privacy matter at [email protected].

What data we collect

We only collect what we need:

  • Enquiry & call-back forms: your first and last name, email address, contact telephone number, your preferred time to call, and the details you choose to share about what you want to invest in and your goals.
  • "Free Deals Report" / newsletter sign-up: your name (optional) and email address.
  • Contact form: your name, email address, chosen topic and message.
  • Technical data: standard information your browser sends to our hosting provider (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) recorded in server logs for security and to keep the site running.

Our calculators run entirely in your browser. The figures you type into them are not sent to us or stored on a server.

How we use your data and our lawful basis

Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your data. We rely on the following:

  • To respond to your enquiry or call-back request — lawful basis: legitimate interests (replying to people who contact us) and/or taking steps at your request before entering into any arrangement.
  • To send you the deals report, market updates or marketing emails — lawful basis: your consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time.
  • To keep the website secure and working — lawful basis: legitimate interests.
  • To meet legal or regulatory obligations — lawful basis: legal obligation.

Marketing emails

If you opt in, we send you property-related content and updates using our email provider (see processors below). Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by clicking it or emailing us. This is in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Who we share your data with (processors)

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf:

  • Email marketing / CRM: systeme.io, which stores your contact details and delivers our emails.
  • Website hosting: our hosting provider, which stores the website files and server logs.
  • Google Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google's servers, which means your IP address is shared with Google when fonts are requested.

We may also disclose data where required by law, or to protect our legal rights.

International transfers

Some of our providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure your data is protected by appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses).

Cookies and local storage

We aim to keep this simple. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The site may use your browser's local storage to remember that you have already submitted a form, so you are not asked again on the same device. Loading Google Fonts may set cookies on Google's domain. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy and request consent where required.

You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time; the calculators and core pages will still work.

How long we keep your data

We keep enquiry and contact data only as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. We keep marketing contacts until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you. Server logs are kept for a short period for security.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased ("right to be forgotten");
  • restrict or object to our processing;
  • data portability (receive your data in a portable format);
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or by calling their helpline.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. The site is served over HTTPS. However, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children

This website is intended for adults investing in property. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it was last revised. Please check back periodically.

This privacy policy is provided as a starting template and should be reviewed by a qualified solicitor and tailored to your business before you rely on it. Remember to replace the bracketed placeholders with your registered business details, and to register with the ICO if required.
